Bonding, Playing, Learning—little Micah is on a journey to find his forever family!
9 years old, standing 4 ft. 4 in. tall, this little blonde hair, blue-eyed guy is preparing for his future forever family. Back in 2014, Micah was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder at Binghamton University’s “The Children’s Unit for Treatment and Evaluation.” Micah is doing well in this routine-based educational program, designed to help him succeed. Micah thrives when he has a familiar and consistent schedule!
Over the past three years, Micah has not only flourished in his foster home, but also continues to show daily improvement. When speaking, he has learned to look directly at a person, even if it’s just for a few seconds. He echoes during a conversation, and asks for help—whether it’s to get a drink or to play with a toy. His favorite place to play is on the four steps in his foster parent’s split-level home—throwing a ball down the steps, picking it up, and starting all over again!
Micah enjoys watching cartoons, including SpongeBob SquarePants and Mickey Mouse, which are his two favorites. Micah also loves playing with stuffed animals and going outside. While playing, he laughs, talks to himself, and interacts with others. While Micah does not understand what a joke is yet, he is so funny! Micah makes hilarious comments, and you simply can’t help but laugh.
