Clinical Training Specialist

Summary: This position will function as a member of the Training Department. They will assist the Director of Training in developing and implementing trainings for the Agency. This person will provide or arrange needed trainings for professionals working with youth and families in the community as well as initiate, develop and implement valid, innovative best practices consistent with progressive trends, directions and research.

Requirements:   Minimum Bachelor’s Degree and three (3) years of proven experience as a social worker, counselor, mental health professional or related experience required. A Master’s Degree in social work or related field strongly preferred. This individual must be familiar with: 

  • Trauma and its effects on brain development
  • Human Development
  • Family systems
  • Basics of therapeutic process

Teachers

Summary: This person will participate in staff meetings, supervisory meetings and attend trainings and in-service opportunities within the Agency and community. Create and implement lesson plans, as well as ensure the instructional needs of each individual student are met in accordance with the Individualized Education Plan (IEP) or 504 Accommodation Plan. Create necessary planning documents as prescribed by specific program guidelines based upon formal and informal assessments of students’ strengths and challenges in accordance with New York State Learning Standards and Performance Indicators. 

 

Requirements: Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university required. Teacher Certification required (NYS Certification preferred; will accept out-of-state certification. NYS Certification will be required within the first two (2) years of employment.) Certification in Special Education Strongly preferred. 

Social Workers, MSW

Summary: This professional will provide counseling to children and families within a variety of child welfare settings such as foster care, residential treatment, group homes, preventive services and adoption. This person will address the presenting needs and challenges of the children and families served which are identified through the treatment planning process. They will plan discharges and arrange for appropriate transitions and they will act as the facilitator for treatment team meetings/case conferences and provide clinical consultation to team members as appropriate. 

Requirements: Master of Social Work from an accredited college or university required. *Ability to obtain licensure within ONE year of employment, if hired. We will provide support for a limited permit until license is obtained. One (1) year social work or related experience required. Valid driver’s license and ability to maintain insurance throughout employment required.

Summary: We welcome interns from a variety of colleges and universities. We encourage students from various programs to join our Agency and all it has to offer to further your studies and career.

Childcare Workers

Summary: Be an appropriate role model and create and maintain an atmosphere which is beneficial to the physical and emotional health of the youngsters.

Requirements: High School Diploma required; Higher education preferred.

Teachers/Teacher Aides

Summary: Provide direct instruction in assigned curriculum area according to NYS Learning Standards and in conjunction with the individualized strengths and challenges of each child.

Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree plus NYS Teaching Certificate required (Teachers only).

Social Workers

Summary: Provide counseling to children and families in a variety of child welfare settings.

Requirements: Master’s Degree in Social Work preferred; Other Master’s Degrees/Bachelor’s Degree considered with appropriate experience

Community Based Providers – Broome, Chenango, Cortland and Orange Counties

Summary: Provide services in the child’s home and other community-based sites. Responsible for guiding and directing the children in care and participating in assessments.

Requirements: Associate’s Degree required; Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees preferred

Retirement Savings

Contribute 3% or more of your gross pay. The Agency will contribute 6% of the participating employee’s salary after one (1) year of employment. Full vesting after three (3) years.
