Close to Home Foster Care Program:
The Close to Home Foster Care Program (C2H) is licensed by New York State Office of Children and Family Services. C2H is designed to identify needs, provide resources, and develop individualized plans for children and families. A team of social workers, caseworkers, parents, foster parents, and community providers work collaboratively to ensure stability and permanency for each child.
We have partnered with Sullivan County, with two goals:
1.To recruit and license new foster homes in Sullivan County
2.Bring back local children who were placed outside the county
We need homes that can foster all ages (babies – teens.) We have an urgent need for homes than can foster siblings!
Benefits of keeping foster children in Sullivan County:
-Makes settling into a foster placement less traumatic
-Reduces trauma and supports their emotion and mental well-being
-Allows the child(ren) to maintain important relationships including family, school, teachers, friends, pets and other important supports, which allows for a healthier emotional and mental well-being
If you would like to learn more email Taylor or Stacey tzuber@chowc.org or strinidad@chowc.org.
We have partnered with Cortland County to meet the demand for foster care homes.

Wendy’s Wonderful Kids:
The Children’s Home is part of Wendy’s Wonderful Kids, a nationwide program with the goal of placing foster care children who are freed for adoption in permanent adoptive homes. The program is funded through a grant from the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption. The grant supports three adoption recruiters who use aggressive child-focused recruitment strategies targeted exclusively on placing foster care children with loving, adoptive families.
