Education
The Children’s Home is licensed by the New York State Education Department to provide specialized alternative learning services in an on-campus school to children in both their High School and Elementary School.
While enrolled, students are provided with an educational program in a safe and highly structured environment. Most services delivered in a 6:1:1 format. It is the goal of this program to enhance each student’s academic stature as well as provide a behavioral structure which will afford them an opportunity to attain a greater degree of success during their educational years and beyond. The education staff work within a multi-disciplinary team to ensure quality care to the children we serve.
Students develop in the following areas:

- Cognitive
Fire and Building Safety Report:
All buildings on the Children’s Home campus are inspected annually by the town of Fenton building inspector. This year’s inspection and reports were completed 10/16/23. The reports for each building are available in the Sr. VP of Education’s office in the Kresge School.
Day Treatment Program
Enhanced Residential Program
Day Treatment Program:
A 12 month school program which provides intensive clinical and special educational services to enhance the functioning of children and their families with the ultimate goal of maintaining children in the community and preserving the family unit.
Enhanced Residential Program:
Licensed by the Office of Child & Family Services (OCFS.) This program serves co-eds, ages 5 to 17 in need of a supportive, educational environment. The length of stay is determined by the Committees on Special Education (CSE) in consultation with parents. This program offers clinical, educational and residential service components. While in this program, children attend our on-campus school, licensed by the New York State Education Department. Speech therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy as well as psychiatric & psychological assessment are provided
